On 15th February, 1915, the 2nd Shropshire Light Infantry of 80 Brigade, 27th Division, moved into the front line to the north of Dickebusch near Ypres. On 16th February No.8 Trench was heavily shelled resulting in three men being killed and eleven wounded. Frederick Owen died from wounds on 17th February and it is likely that he was one of those wounded on the previous day. |
